4) Stephan Aeppli's Egyptian oud: this instrument was originally covered in thick varnish and had large plastic rosettes and a pickguard that seriously affected the resonance. The owner removed the center rosette and got the instrument stripped and oiled. The sound improved greatly. |

The owner says that this is a very good solution to play with singers with bariton. Note the mechanical pegs instead the conventional ones. |
