This is an astonishing and high quality instrument, made by Alcide Gavatelli (Liutisteria Ercola, Italy). It has been used to play "La Traviata" in the Teatro Colon of Buenos Aires for about 50 years. It has a wonderful and loud sound, and it has been built with 42 ribs. Mother of pearls ornamentations and pegs, silver peg holders, and tortoise shell pickguard completes its design. It belonged to my grandmother.
